Making a chandelier with feathers was a pretty recent idea, you would think that based on my other art that it would have been something that I would've done at the beginning of my lighting launch. But I didn't want to make "dreamcatcher" lights, only "dreamcatcher-inspired" lights. To me a dreamcatcher is an ancient sacred spiritual tool and turning it into a light was never my intention as it would take away from that sacredness. Though of course my previous works have definitely inspired and influenced my lighting designs, but my lights are not "dreamcatchers". To me it is a big difference and I'm sure many would understand and appreciate that..
Hence it was so much fun to put feathers on a chandeleir! This one really makes you want to touch and play with fluffy ostrich feathers, making it a very sensual piece. This ISLAND EMPRESS Collection was inspired by my beach wedding in Cuba (January 2020) based on all my custom handmade decor and jewelry creations.
